Built Green Canada Maverick Awards Video Project
Award Winner Video Profiles – Highlighting Sustainability and Innovation
Client—Built Green Canada
➊ Leadership, Kelly Williams
➋ Transformational, Major Homes
Challenge
Built Green Canada required a series of award winner video profiles to showcase the achievements of its Maverick Award recipients. The goal was to produce three 3-4 minute profiles, along with shorter cuts, telling the personal and professional stories behind the winners’ contributions to sustainable building. These videos were designed to inspire both industry professionals and the public about the importance of sustainability in home building.
➌ Innovation, Kanas Corp's Orion at Lumino Park
Approach
We created three award winner video profiles for the Maverick Award recipients, highlighting their contributions to sustainable building alongside their personal stories. Each video combined sit-down interviews with dynamic visuals of the recipients’ projects, using a two-camera setup to capture both depth and viewer engagement.
To elevate the visual storytelling, we integrated cinematic gimbal shots and aerial footage to highlight the elegance of sustainable design, while handheld footage in real-time provided a behind-the-scenes look at the work in progress. The overall visual approach emphasized clean transitions, a modern visual palette, and a soothing voice-over that reflected the harmony inherent in sustainable practices.
Results
The award winner video profiles have received positive feedback from the industry and are now featured on the Built Green Canada website. They’ve also become a key part of Built Green Canada’s Maverick Awards marketing, distributed through email blasts and showcased in public education initiatives and social media posts (both paid and organic). The Maverick Award recipients have used these videos in their own marketing efforts, helping to promote their contributions to sustainable building. These profiles continue to support Built Green Canada’s mission by promoting sustainable building practices through inspirational storytelling.
