Challenge

Edmonton’s Community Services Department wanted to create a series of light-hearted videos to educate residents on topics they are asked about through the Pest Management Lab.

Approach

We pitched this Just So You Know campaign concept which includes interviews, quirky inserts, and fun animations. We noted how online #JSYK is a popular hashtag and felt that it would be perfect to incorporate here.

Results

The #JSYKyeg campaign has been tremendously successful online. The team at the City created a Just So You Know playlist on Facebook that has over 112.9K followers, and the first time the Wildlife video was posted on Facebook it received over 180K Views and 1K+ shares. The department took it even farther and developed a specific JSYKyeg microsite which included the videos, our graphics and illustrations and more information. We were also asked to design colouring pages and posters for City of Edmonton community centres to hand out which was brilliant! The City even created a trivia game and held Twitter and Facebook Q&As with the #JSYKyeg hashtag which made us pretty proud.

And to top it all off, the project was also honoured with distinction at the 2018 Edmonton ACE Awards.
