Wondering what you can do to prepare for your video interview? Below are some tips.
Clothing and Hair:
Whenever possible, choose classic styles of outfits and hairstyles that will not date the video.
Avoid stripes, pinstripes and textured patterns. It can cause a weird moiré effect. Solid colours are typically best.
Please do not wear anything with prominent logos/branding.
What to Expect on Shoot Day:
It will take some time to get set up. Thanks in advance for your patience!
Have an idea of what you want to say, but we don’t want you to sound rehearsed. Trust us to coach you through it.
It will be repetitive. When responding to the same question a second, or even third time, try to not begin with phrases like “as I said before” or “again…” The audience will never know you were asked the same question multiple times. We need options in the edit, and this way we can use your very best takes.
Probably goes without saying, but watch your “ums” and “uhs.”
When you’re answering questions, you may have a “starter word.” The most common one is “so,” We’ll listen and help you to not use it to start every answer.
Before you answer, take a breath and gather your thoughts. There’s no rush!
Relax and have fun! We’ll work with you and bring out your best.
